The measures available in klima2go come from various fields and are all freely accessible online. On the one hand, these are measures developed and published by scientifically relevant researchers (marked as "W" in the database). On the other hand, measures created by societal initiatives (with scientific support or consultation) are also included (marked as "G"). Additionally, klima2go contains measures from the political/administrative sector, provided they were developed with scientific expertise or are considered scientifically recommended or effective (marked as "P").

Scientific Sources
This CCCA project evaluated the measures proposed by 100 institutions during the public consultation on the NEKP draft (2021–2023) based on scientific findings. The project aimed to assess the potential of additional measures for greenhouse gas reduction by 2030, which were not yet included in the NEKP draft scenarios "with existing measures" (WEM) and "with additional measures" (WAM) by the Austrian Environment Agency (UBA). The measures were categorized into three priorities. Measures of the highest priority are already included in klima2go, while priority-2 measures are planned for future inclusion. Priority-3 measures were deemed not recommended due to their lack of climate benefits or significant negative side effects on the environment or society.

During the update of the National Energy and Climate Plan (NEKP), a public consultation was held until August 30, 2023. Various stakeholders, including interest groups, ministries, federal states, political parties, scientists, and civil society organizations, had eight weeks to submit written feedback on the draft. Approximately 50 scientists under the umbrella of the Climate Change Centre Austria (CCCA) contributed to this statement.

Reference Plan for a Scientifically Based National Energy and Climate Plan for Austria (Ref-NEKP)
The Ref-NEKP outlines potential pathways for Austria to make a fair and adequate contribution to the Paris Climate Agreement. Under the auspices of the CCCA, the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, the University of Graz, and the Vienna University of Economics and Business prepared this comprehensive report. The Ref-NEKP includes the following documents: Executive Summary (September 2019), Vision 2050 and Implementation Pathways (November 2019), and the Full Report (November 2019).

UniNEtZ – Building Blocks for the Future
Based on the UniNEtZ options from the first project phase and numerous activities involving transdisciplinary dialogue, the second phase of UniNEtZ developed "Building Blocks for the Future." These are grounded in scientific findings but go beyond them in their concrete design. They aim to make the current state of research accessible in a way that allows direct integration into political and societal discussions. The approximately 80 building blocks are grouped into nine transformation fields, including well-being, global environmental commons, sustainable economy, and more.

Austria's Options for Implementing the UN Agenda 2030 (UniNEtZ)
UniNEtZ is a nationwide, interdisciplinary university project focused on implementing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Austria. In its first phase (2019–2022), 19 partner institutions developed around 150 options containing approximately 950 measures for achieving the UN Agenda 2030. These were presented to the Austrian government in March 2022.
