klima2go offers various ways to find measures relevant to your topics or needs.
The goal of klima2go is to make measures from different sources searchable using comparable criteria. However, this is a significant challenge, as sources often differ in their system boundaries, sectors, and timeframes. To address this, we have chosen a practical compromise. The classifications were made by the project team based on jointly defined criteria to ensure a consistent categorization across all sources. However, this categorization should be seen as a helpful guide rather than an absolute truth.
For the current version of klima2go, the categories Climate Impact, Sector, and Turnaround were selected to enable an initial comparable analysis of the measures. Detailed descriptions of these categories can be found in the Glossary.
Assessment of Climate Impact
The measures are categorized based on their climate impact. They contribute either to mitigation (climate protection), adaptation (climate change adaptation), or both. While klima2go primarily includes climate-related measures, it also features a variety of sustainability measures. Some measures may have an indirect or no immediate impact on the climate and are labeled as "indirect." These measures are significant because climate and sustainability are inherently interconnected. Detailed definitions of climate impact can be found in the Glossary.
Sector Allocation
Since there are no universally applicable definitions for sectors, we developed our own classifications based on national reporting sector definitions and project discussions. These classifications aim to provide a practical and comparable evaluation of measures and are described in detail in the Glossary.
Assignment to Turnarounds
The Earth for All report by the Club of Rome describes five interconnected "turnarounds" that serve as a political roadmap for creating a resilient civilization by 2050 (Source: Dixson-Declève, S. et al., 2022, Earth for All).
Based on the international report, the Austrian Chapter of the Club of Rome published a national guide for implementing the five turnarounds in Austria (Source: Swoboda, H., Gaber, S., Hinterberger, F., 2024. Club of Rome - Austrian Chapter. Eine Erde für Alle, Ein Guide für Österreich).

A detailed description of the turnarounds can be found in the Glossary.
Free Text Search
You can perform a free text search within the titles of the measures. However, searching within the detailed measure descriptions is currently not possible.
Additional Factors
There are ongoing efforts to assign additional aspects to the measures, such as the level of implementation, greenhouse gas reduction potential, and implementation effort. However, these tasks are complex and require additional financial and time resources.
