WG Social-ecological transformation

The background of the working group "Social-ecological transformation" is that overcoming the challenges associated with climate change and the goal of sustainable development, requires a social-ecological transformation. In order to support this transformation through research, the Social-Ecological Transformation Network was formed in 2016.

The aim of the CCCA working group that has now emerged from this is to initiate and conduct empirical-analytical and normative-strategic research in order to contribute to shaping the transformation of society that lies ahead, as well as to also build a bridge between research and implementation and thus have a transformative effect. The working group is also concerned with discussing the role of science in Austria, the independence of science and the understanding of science and research in politics. In the field of transformation research, this role needs to be redefined and explicitly disclosed.
