Development of the CCCA “Newsletter for International Affairs”
One of the most important tasks of the VPF is the distribution of information about European/international activities in climate change research. This is primarily done via the newsletter, which sends information to over 1300 people in Austria. Since June 2020, there is also the format of the “Newsletter for International Affairs” for better differentiation, which brings targeted information to the newsletter subscribers. The CCCA newsletter sends information about international events, calls for proposals or opportunities for participation via the networking platform.

Calls for participation in international formats
Another core task of the networking platform is to position Austrian scientists well internationally, increase their visibility and give them access to committees, consortia and collaboration opportunities. At the same time, experts can actively contribute their areas of focus in an international field and expand their own networks. This is why the networking platform regularly calls for participation in international projects and formats.
Expert nominations
In close cooperation with the Service Center, the networking platform advises and mediates in the nomination of experts for international bodies or committees and as speakers for events.
Consideration of the international perspective in CCCA products
The networking platform ensures that the international dimension is present in CCCA products, thereby preventing parallel activities at international and national level. For example, the networking platform was involved in the APCC Special Report Land Use, Land Management and Climate Change (SR21).
Support in the development of international tenders
The networking platform supports the Austrian research community in international calls for proposals by arranging contacts to project consortia in consultation with the service center and by specifically approaching individual researchers and supporting them in the implementation of tender participations.
Transnational networking
The Austrian CCCA is an international role model for the bundling of research networks in climate change research. The networking platform supports links between international research networks and the CCCA in order to raise its international profile.
