Wilfried Hinsch is a professor of philosophy at the University of Cologne, where he has worked on, inter alia, ethical questions of war and peace, co-authoring two books on the topic, Menschenrechte militärisch schützen: Ein Plädoyer für humanitäre Intervention (together with Dieter Jansen, 2006, München: C.H. Beck) - Protecting Human Rights Militarily: The Case for Humanitarian Intervention as well as Die Moral des Krieges. Für einen aufgeklärten Pazifismus (together with Peter Sprong, 2017, München: Piper) - The Morality of War. For an Enlightened Pacifism.
